21 Days in Sri Lanka

Culture, Adventure, Sun and Sand combo.

 Day 1: 

Arrival in Sri Lanka. 

Met and greeted at the Airport by our English speaking driver who will then transfer you in Air conditioned car/minivan to the beautiful North Western coast of Negombo. After checking into hotel you will be taken on a boat ride on the Negombo Lagoon. Overnight stay at “Lavinia Hotel”.

Day 2

Leave for Anuradhapura, the first Kingdom of ancient Sri Lanka, Overnight stay at “Heladiv Hotel”

Day 3

Leave on a city tour of this ancient city of Anuradhapura, visiting Sites dating back to pre-historic times, also visit the Sacred Bo Tree, the oldest recorded tree in the world.

Day 4

After breakfast leave for the beautiful East coast, where you could relax and unwind on some world-renowned beaches of Trincomalee. Overnight stay at “Trincomalee Beach Hotel”.

Day 5

Relax on the beautiful beaches, explore the city or engage in some activity like snorkeling etc. Overnight stay at “Trincomalee Beach Hotel”.

Day 6

Relax on the beautiful beaches, explore the city or engage in some activity like snorkeling etc. Overnight stay at “Trincomalee Beach Hotel”.

 Day 7

After breakfast leave for Sigiriya, check into hotel, in the afternoon visit Sigiriya Rock, see the beautiful paintings of the Frescos dating back to the 5th Century AD and the marvels and skills of engineering belonging to that era. Overnight at “Nice Place Hotel”.

Day 8

Take an excursion to the ancient city of Pollonaruwa to see the ruins of a 12th Century Kingdom. Thereafter, go on a village tour by tractor and enjoy a typical local lunch. Return to hotel for overnight at “Nice Place Hotel”

Day 9

Proceed to Wasgamuwa, after check in you will be taken on a Jeep Safari to Wasgamuwa National Park where you have the opportunity of seeing first hand animals in the wild, these could include Elephants, Wild boar, Peacock, Bears, Monkeys etc. Overnight stay at “Lavendish Hotel”.

Day 10

Leave for Kandy. Kandy is also known as the Hill Capital, and the last kingdom of Sri Lanka, a town of hustle and bustle and much beauty, the city which houses the famous Temple of the Tooth of the Lord Buddha, also famous for the world renowned Kandy perehera. You could check into your hotel, thereafter, do a city tour of Kandy and in the evening pay a visit to the temple to observe the poojas, also witness a cultural pageant of Kandyan dancers. Overnight at “Athulya Villas”.

Day 11

After breakfast visit the beautiful Peradeniya Botanical gardens and enjoy the rest of the day visiting the Kandy city, return to hotel for overnight stay at “Athulya Villas”.

Day 12

Leave for Kitulgala, where you could indulge in White water rafting. Overnight stay at “Rafters Retreat”.

Day 13

Leave for Nuwara Eliya en route visiting a Tea factory to witness first-hand the tea pluckers at work and the process of the manufacture of tea. Nuwara Eliya also known as little England. This drive will take you ithrough scenic mountains and beautiful valleys. Victorian architecture still stands tall in all its grandeur in this little city. Overnight at “Villa Atulya”.

Day 14

Make an early start, take a picnic breakfast and leave for Horton Plains. Horton Plains in Sri Lanka, is the coldest and windiest location in the country. It consists of ecosystems such as Montane evergreen forests, grasslands, marshy lands and aquatic ecosystem. At an altitude of 2,100 meters above sea level, Horton Plains spreads across over 3,169 hectares of the highest tableland of the island. In view of the large number of endemic flora and fauna species, Horton Plains was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site on 30th July 2010. Overnight stay at “Villa Atulya”.

Day 15

Leave for Ella by train, a ride that will show case some of Sri Lanka’s most beautiful and picturesque terrain. Ella is a small but lively little town where you can savour street food and lively activity. The afternoon is free for you to explore this little town. Overnight at “88th Ella”.

Day 16

Commencing another day take a leisurely downhill drive to Udawalawe. After check in you will be taken on a jeep safari to the Udawalawe National park where you have the opportunity of seeing first hand animals in the wild, these could include Elephants, Leopards, Wild boar, Peacock Bears etc. and also the elephant transit home, where abandoned baby elephants are cared for and released back into the wild. Overnight at “Nil Diya Mankada”. 

Day 17

Leave for Mirissa, the beautiful South beach. Overnight at “Paradise Beach Club”

Day 18

Relax on the beautiful sandy beaches or explore the neighborhood. Overnight stay at “Paradise Beach Club”.

Day 19

Relax on the beautiful sandy beaches or explore the neighborhood. Overnight stay at “Paradise Beach Club”.

Day 20

Leave for Colombo, the commercial capital of Sri Lanka end route visiting the Dutch Galle Fort, take a look at the Dutch period Church and other buildings and the streets, some of these streets still carry typical Dutch names. Overnight at “Radisson Hotel Colombo”

Day 21

Transfer to Airport for departure flight.
